Jaguar xf 2011 The highly successful Jaguar XF sports saloon is now available with a dramatic new appearance pack for customers who want their Jaguar to make an even stronger visual impact. Featuring menacing dark-grey 20-inch Draco alloy wheels with diamond turned rims, a gloss black grille and gloss black window surrounds, the Jaguar XF Black Pack is available on XF Diesel S, the 5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and XFR models, with prices starting at £950.

“The Black Pack gives the XF a highly distinctive, very modern and a slightly edgy appearance,” said Geoff Cousins, Managing Director, Jaguar UK. “Since the Black Pack and Speed Pack were launched on the XKR sports car at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, almost half of XKR coupe buyers have selected one or both options – double our original estimate – and we expect the Black Pack will generate just as much excitement amongst XF customers.”
The expanding choice of exciting personalisation options is generating even more interest in the XF range, which has now sold more than 100,000 units worldwide since its launch in 2008, as well as receiving more than 60 international awards.
“The XF continues to attract new customers to the Jaguar brand, and with these distinctive new personalisation packs extending the appeal of the range, we are confident that the success story will continue,” added Geoff Cousins.

The new Jaguar XF is already acclaimed as a key element in the revitalization of the Jaguar brand, with its new generation of beautiful fast cars. But now the car that defines Jaguar sporting luxury is even better, with major powertrain changes and a wider range of models - including a stunning new, supercharged Jaguar XFR.
The 2010 model year Jaguar XF features all-new 5.0-liter direct-injection V8 engines. There are also significant trim and specification changes - including many new features unique to the new XFR - and the introduction of a new Portfolio derivative.
When it was introduced last year, the Jaguar XF was soon recognized as a dramatic expression of a bold new Jaguar design language. It also soon became apparent that here was a car where the driving experience exceeded the expectations created by the striking appearance. Now, the new XFR takes this driving experience to new levels, shifting the balance even further towards dynamic performance while still retaining the Jaguar XF's core values as a refined and luxurious sports sedan. Power comes from an all-new 5.0-liter direct-injection supercharged V8 engine delivering 510bhp and 461lb-ft of torque. Immediately recognizable thanks to unique new 20-inch wheels, a new front end design with revised chrome air intakes, 'Supercharged' hood louvres, four polished exhaust tailpipes, an aerodynamically functional rear spoiler and side sills, the new XFR also sports discreet 'R' badging.

The attributes that marked out the Jaguar XF at launch are still very much new and in the public eye. The four-door XF has the visual excitement of a coupe, but room inside for five adults to enjoy an interior wholly contemporary in style yet uniquely Jaguar.
Simplicity and clever use of space are key to the Jaguar XF's interior design and this is unchanged in the new generation. For the driver, this is centered on the compact packaging of the JaguarDrive Selector™ transmission interface. The beautiful cast alloy Selector has already gained recognition for its part in the distinctive XF 'welcoming handshake'; a sequence in which the illuminated stop/start button pulsates like a heartbeat until pressed, when the JaguarDrive Selector™ rises into the driver's hand and the rotating fascia vents silently open.
Features such as this have already attracted more than 30,000 customers to the new Jaguar XF - and now, in many instances, they have been enhanced even further. The combination of aluminum dashboard, satin or gloss wood veneers, tailored instrument and door panels with twin-needle stitching as standard, plus Phosphor Blue halo illumination and interior mood lighting, set the Jaguar XF's cabin as far apart from its competitors as its exterior styling.
Customers seeking luxury appointments should look to the new Portfolio specification. Available with the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8, the Portfolio model includes ultimate craftsmanship details such as contrast stitching on leather trim, Jaguar Suedecloth Premium headlining, deep-pile carpet mats with contrast edging and embroidered logos, unique veneer and ventilated heated and cooled seats.
But it is the new powertrain options that are at the heart of the changes for 2010 model year. The all-new 5.0-liter AJ-V8 Gen III engines - in 385bhp/380lb-ft of torque naturally aspirated and 510bhp/461lb-ft supercharged 'R' guise - add an entirely new, even more sporting dimension to the Jaguar XF range.
These new engines are Jaguar's most efficient ever, and they deliver power and performance at a higher level across the board. In the case of the supercharged engine, compared to the 4.2-liter V8, power has increased by a remarkable 23 percent and torque by 12 percent.
The result in the new Jaguar XFR is a 0-60mph sprint time of just 4.7 seconds (0-100kph in 4.9 seconds). More relevant in everyday driving, an excellent indicator of XFR's great flexibility is the time it takes to accelerate from 50-70mph - just 1.9 seconds.
The comparisons for the naturally aspirated engine are equally impressive. Power is increased by 29 percent and torque by 25 percent. The benchmark 0-60mph acceleration time is 5.5 seconds (0-100kph in 5.7 seconds) - some 0.8 seconds quicker than the 4.2 Jaguar XF. Better still, these improvements are achieved without hindering fuel economy and emissions performance. The new engines meet US ULEV II/Tier 2 Bin 5 emissions regulations.
And alongside these new engines, the naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 engine will continue to play a key role for the Jaguar XF and will be available starting January 2009. Customers will be able to order the latest naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 versions of the new Jaguar XF range from January 2009. The 510bhp supercharged V8 XFR will be available to order from February 2009.

For a long time, worrying about Jaguar was the only sensible thing to do. While it was never exactly clear if the marque had (ever) achieved profitability, we enthusiasts were only too happy to give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, the English automaker serially gifted us with watershed designs. Sublime mechanical creatures like the E- and D-Type sports cars, as well as the curvacious Mark II and original XJ. How could we not be totally and utterly smitten? Yet somehow, the once proud automaker eventually found itself adrift in mediocrity, turning out maligned and slow-selling products with an unpleasant odor of unreliability as the money began to run dry. When the then Ford-owned brand launched headlong into its "democratization of luxury" strategy that resulted in the lamentable 2001 X-Type and serious talk of an SUV, well, we couldn't help but grow gravely concerned.

After all, how could a company like Jaguar – a firm that prided itself not only on voluptuous design and sporty handling but also sybaritic appointments and a refined, aristocratic manor speak with a straight face about "the democratization of luxury?"

The very concept was oxymoronic to the point of absurdity: when a given commodity is within easy reach of the masses, it ceases to be a luxury good. Simple as that. Predictably, it didn't take long for consumers to cotton on to this revelation, and the savior X-Type was broadly lambasted and narrowly purchased.

Thankfully, the lanky Leaping Cat is at last in proud form once again, and under the new leadership of India's Tata Motors, they are building on the success of the massively impressive Jaguar XF of 2008. By our reckoning, that car was the first clear indication from chief designer Ian Callum and Company that not only did Jaguar understand that it had a past – it might have the blueprint for a bright future as well. As it reasserts its claim to the flagship slot in Coventry's lineup, the new XJ finds itself with big shoes to fill. Is it up to the task? Follow the jump to learn more.

There’s nothing that says you’ve made it in life quite like a Jaguar, and there’s no better and more expensive Jaguar to drive than the flagship — or is it flagcat? — supercharged Jaguar XJ.
According to our friends at TFLcar.com, this newest and sleekest Jaguar manages to combine speed, power, room and luxury in one glorious leather-wrapped, tied-up-with-a-cashmere-bow feline ride. With 470 horsepower, and room for five adults, you’d think the supercharged Jaguar XJ would be a ponderous heavyweight stalking the top shelf BMWs and Mercs of the world. But since it is almost entirely made of aluminum this big cat pounces the competition at the stoplight like a world class sprinter with a 0 to 60 time of just under 5 seconds.
But what makes this Jag so special is not what it has in common with the competion, but instead the quirky differences that make this Jaguar a real Jaguar.

bugatti galibier overview : VW has approved the production of the Bugatti 16C Galibier sedan according to a Bloomberg report. It was showcased as a concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The car itself, has 1,000 hp under its hood and could cost around €1 million ($1.4 million), according to the inside sources.

The 16C Galibier would join the Veyron sports car in Bugatti's lineup. But Galibier production may not start for two to three years while Bugatti retools its boutique manufacturing plant in Molsheim, France.

The 16C will feature the same all-wheel drive set-up and the same seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox as the smaller record-breaking hypercar. Even though the Veyron was built purely as an ultra luxurious speed machine, the larger, more luxurious 16C is set to follow in the same footsteps. It might even break a few records for the fastest production four-door sedan when it hits the road.

The Lamborghini Embolado Concept was designed by Luca Serafini, an Industrial Design final year student at University of Parma, Italy. It’s design is an extreme sportscar characterized by an aggressive design with sharp and steady lines.

The author’s biggest dream is to work as a designer for Lamborghini; a very natural desire, since he lives in Modena, just a few kilometers away from Sant’Agata Bolognese. This is where the idea of creating the Embolado came from.
As Luca Serafini explains "the inspiration came from the research of a Spanish festival, named "Embolado Bull" (or Toro Embolado). "The choice of the name was the first step towards the creation of this concept".
"Based on the Gallardo dimensions, I started to define the main lines in a very marked and steady way, giving the front end taurin forms".

Apparently, Nissan is making more cars than those EPORO robot cars that we reported on a while ago. In this case, this is a concept car that a person could actually ride in. In fact, two people could ride in it, as long as the passenger doesn’t mind sitting in the back seat.
The Land Glider is very ultra light, and ultra thin. In fact, it looks like it could take up only half a normal lane. Of course what really makes the Nissan Land Glider awesome looking is that it leans when it turns.
Yes, it leans. In short, Nissan realized that motorcycles, with their cool leaning while they turn, could easily be used on cars. By the way, this Land Glider is totally electrical, and it is a Smart Car.
Speaking of Smart Cars, did you see last night’s episode of The Office, where Michael Scott does a comedy routine about smart cars. I suppose that most of these smart cars aren’t really smart, and that KITT from Knight Rider is the only Smart Car that we may never see.
Well, time will answer that question, but I’m under the belief that we will probably see the Land Glider sometime soon.
